SHOULDERS

You were driving on the shoulder

You wanted to get there fast

Those red lights just love you

So you've found a way to pass

A way around the traffic

Around all of the setbacks

With one left turn and two rights

This,your little shoulder hack

You've been crying on these shoulders

And your voice continuously breaks

Years of tears and problems

These loyal  shoulders take

Maybe you should  try the traffic

Just wait,stay on the main

Don't pop your horn

Don't ride those bumpers

Resist that swear

Don't switch your lane

You bring such drama to these shoulders

and your tears have left much stains

These shoulders may be  strong now

But they can't shoulder too much strain

DISTILLERY

Bury him in the distillery

Where he will forever live on

You call him addict

You call him victim

And he calls you pawn

You cannot even think

Your own thoughts

But put an AA label on him

Throw his corpse into the winepress

For all eternity

FORBIDDEN THINGS

BOTTLED UP

Next to me on this floor

lie  men

whose names I never knew

and friends whose numbers

I'll never call

And a lot of religious folks

with no understanding

at all

Next to me on this floor

are neighbors

I prefer not to see

and a very twisted society

and strangers who call

themselves family

This

my bottled up reality

that  grog my only therapy

made room

to store permanently

right next to me

on this floor

INTOXICATION

Bottle after bottle

from puncheon

to white oak

to aleze

a few cockburns

from day to day

and these headaches, oh

they make me sway

between reality

for what I thought

I wanted to be

is now just

nauseating me

So,I throw  up

these self-inflicted

overdoses

of dreams

that  never

made me happy

Aspirations

to bring out the real me

all that  I expected

this life to be

Some beers

please?

So I could cuddle

and cry

and dream another dream

by this roadside

destination

of disappointment?

Best I rock  back my panty

and pee on this pavement

to commemorate

another dream

That was not worth

a bottle of scream

Please

for the Liver

A survivor,

I am ,of harm!

And Cheers Oh

 to

 dreams

these subconscious thoughts

that were not worth

ah damn!
