YOUR PORTION

I give you your portion

of our relationship

today

So you can

go around with me

Like we've been

dating all along

The only difference is

this time

that you are well

informed

Just last night

we walked the Broadwalk

and shared kisses

at the Pier

we had dinner

the night before

just you and I were

there

Remember our weekend

at Pigeon Point?

man,you swim so well!

and our hike to Paria

The waterfalls

How nature smells

Mud volcanoes

And sulphur springs

This therapeutic

love affair

would be much

more enjoyable

If the Real you

would be there

ESCALATOR IN REVERSE

This escalator

is in reverse

Who is taking my complaint?

I try to go up

but it moves me

back to start again

Mr. Store Manager

Great Architect

Mr. Mechanic

Why does this escalator

move backward

whilst I am on it?

I see children

skipping steps

joking their way forward

And Old haters

tired of life

moving up and onwards

Religious wine bibbers

with thousands

of communion

in hand

And talk about women

riding up

with my man

Mr. Architect

Do something!

I want to

schedule a meeting

Yes!

We need to converse

about  why

this escalator

is in reverse

BACK PEDALING

Sometimes when the chain

gets stuck

you rather back pedal

than halt ,in the middle

Of motion-

hurried persons

with no real destination

A little grease

might bring release

if the chain

stops slipping-

many wasted efforts

that bring you nothing

Like you are

on the wrong path

but you just can't see that

so you start

back pedaling-

Your mind races

to those places

where bridges are

smoking

But it takes

brick and mortar

and lots of pitch

to get you there-

detour possibilities

forgiveness

facing fears

So you are

balancing now

like a pro

in mid-air

but
forward movements

might require

backward efforts

to get you there

REAL TRUTH

You wear your truth
As a badge of honor
But there is no honor
In your truth
Like stainless steel dog tags
On a world of deception
Like red knitted stockings
You flaunt price tags
But not even that truth
Can conceal,
the pain in your eyes
Your whole  war of lies

You wear your truth
So picture perfect
But there is no perfection
In your truth
Like flawless smiles
On rubbles of pain
Like make-up
You hide those scars again
You chant your mantra
Of loose love and letting go
Because holding on
Brought you pain
So you wear you fearful truth
To never love, again

You wear your truth
With degrees and titles
But there is no success
In your truth
Tied up in your own strings
You disassociate
With the struggle
But a million
relations
Can reveal
The pain you feel
Those wounds
that never heal

Because it is you
Who can't accept
your real
