OPENED EYES, OPEN EYES

Alas my eyes are opened, but I cannot fall asleep
Ajar to gloomy yesterdays, and at unknown future peep
Princess’ pea torments night’s mattress, such, so rest I cannot find
Because, unanswered questions, pried open these eyes of mine

Quick glances at chances, empty dreams that run about
When   unveiled knowledge of good and evil, bow humbly to thrones of doubt
Serpent’s tongue, beguiles in spite, hoping now to keep awake
Eyes of anger, eyes of envy, eyes of deep regrets and hate

Oh a dollar, I would give it, oh a prayer, I will recite
In exchange for perfect peace that puts insomnia to flight
Let secrets remain secrets and let worry rest in peace
Then let these eyes peruse the eulogy of insomnia deceased

BROKEN JAR

A clay jar   carelessly put   on a ledge
Will often times fall and break
Gentle winds welcomed by most
May breeze it and ease it of the post
And when it breaks the ledge stands by
Motionless only to question why
Not knowing how to explain what he saw
The jars travesty he but ignores

A clay jar carelessly put on a ledge
Will often times shake  and break
And when it does, oh so small a   crash
Sleeping neighbours, will awake
Some to worry, some to hate
Some to slander and   misconstrue
But how can the   ledge explain
That he just did not know what to do

So now who cleans up the splinters?
